soho Warehouse Los ANgeles
Taking adaptive-reuse to the next level, this project converts a former plumbing supply warehouse built in 1916 in DTLA’s Arts District into a members-only club with hotel rooms, a gym, pool deck, and several food and beverage outlets.
The cutting-edge interior design works with the industrial character of the building and neighborhood, and uses existing graffiti as a prominent feature in many of the common areas.
The space houses a wide variety of uses with multiple acoustical challenges:
Guest rooms with glazing exposure to Santa Fe avenue with frequent heavy truck traffic, hospitality and fitness uses with sensitive adjacencies, rooftop pool with guestrooms below, limited space for HVAC and exhaust system location, building service equipment located at exterior with adjacencies to outdoor dining areas.
Original design included music recording studios in basement with adjacencies to structure shared by hospitality and fitness spaces above.
George was closely involved at SD, DD, and CD phases with heavy client interaction.
